Certificates Of Analysis
## Independent Laboratory Documentation
Evident Peptides provides available Certificates of Analysis for individual product batches to support transparency, traceability, and research documentation.
Use the certificate library below to locate documentation by product name, lot number, or testing date. Each certificate should be matched to the lot number printed on the corresponding product label.
**All products are supplied strictly for laboratory and research use only. They are not intended for human or veterinary use, medical use, diagnostic use, or consumption.**

## Understanding a Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis, commonly called a COA, is a laboratory document reporting analytical results associated with a particular sample or production batch.
Because analytical methods and report formats vary, researchers should review the complete certificate rather than relying solely on a summary or headline purity value.
### Product and Sample Identification
A COA should identify the material tested and may include the product name, sample identification number, batch number, lot number, or other laboratory reference number.
Researchers should compare this information with the lot number shown on the product label.
### Purity Analysis by HPLC
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, or HPLC, is an analytical technique used to separate and measure components within a sample.
An HPLC report may include:
* Reported purity percentage
* Chromatogram
* Retention time
* Individual peak measurements
* Integrated peak area
* Analytical method information
The reported percentage reflects the result produced by the stated analytical method for the submitted sample. It should not be interpreted as proof of sterility, biological activity, suitability for a particular experiment, or absence of every possible contaminant.
### Identity Analysis by Mass Spectrometry
Mass spectrometry may be used to compare the detected molecular mass of a sample with the expected molecular mass of the identified compound.
A mass-spectrometry report may include:
* Expected molecular mass
* Detected molecular mass
* Mass spectrum
* Ionization method
* Laboratory interpretation
Identity testing and purity testing evaluate different characteristics. A purity result alone does not necessarily confirm identity unless appropriate identity testing was also performed.
### Batch and Lot Traceability
Lot numbers provide a connection between a physical product and its associated documentation.
Researchers should retain the following information in their records:
* Product name
* Lot or batch number
* Date received
* COA file
* Storage conditions
* Relevant experimental records
A certificate for one lot should not automatically be treated as documentation for a different lot.

Each report may identify the testing laboratory, report date, sample receipt date, analysis date, certificate number, or authorized reviewer.
Laboratory names and report formats may differ depending on the analytical service used and the tests requested.

## What a COA Does—and Does Not—Establish
A COA reports the results of the analyses specifically identified in the laboratory document.
Depending on the report, testing may address:
* Purity
* Molecular mass or identity
* Quantity or concentration
* Appearance
* Water content
* Residual solvents
* Endotoxin
* Microbial content
* Sterility
Not every certificate includes every category of testing.
Unless a certificate expressly reports a particular test, the certificate should not be interpreted as establishing that characteristic. For example, an HPLC purity report alone does not establish sterility, endotoxin level, microbial status, or suitability for human or animal use.

## Laboratory Documentation Process
### 1. Batch Identification
Products and associated records are organized using product and lot or batch identifiers.
### 2. Sample Submission
A sample associated with the identified material is submitted for the analytical services requested.
### 3. Laboratory Analysis
The laboratory performs the analyses listed on the report using its stated instrumentation and methodology.
### 4. Report Review
The resulting documentation is reviewed for the reported product name, sample identifier, testing date, analytical results, and laboratory information.
### 5. Certificate Publication
Available documentation is published in the COA library and organized by product and lot number.

## Important Limitations
Certificates are provided for research-documentation and transparency purposes.
Analytical results apply to the sample identified in the corresponding report. Results from one sample or batch should not be assumed to apply to another batch.
